Insight in treatment comes from a deep reflection on past and present relationships. Feelings such as anxiety, fear, worry, a lack of motivation, disinterest in life, sadness, avoidance, obsessions and repetitive thoughts about traumatic experiences can shape your perspective, sense-of-self and relationships. Therapy can be a place to learn about these patterns and the impact each may have on your life. Of critical importance is your ability to express fully who you are in life, love, work, and with others. Learning to develop healthy and meaningful relationships is central to being able to participate, with more freedom, in your life.
Approach to psychotherapy
I draw from many different treatment models, depending on your needs. I will work with you to define your goals and what you would like to accomplish in therapy. I specialize in both long-term and short-term psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy is a deeply personal and sometimes difficult process. Sources of distress can be complex and hard to pinpoint. I strive for a non-judgmental and compassionate approach to therapy in order to fully explore and reflect on your present and past. My hope is that you will feel understood, safe, and feel a sense of hope in our work together.
